Dream Closet

24th July 2017

I think since I moved out for college, I have always been obsessed with creating the dream closet space. We have had a lot of luck with always having amazing closet space, but it’s never been enough (I’m currently creeping onto Miguels side of the closet). I have always wanted a space where I got ready to feel luxurious and inviting with the best lighting. I pray for the day when we buy a home and I can have an entire room dedicated to getting ready. The kids may ultimately share a room so we very well could have a “clo-ffice” in the near future, but it just depends on the babes sleeping patterns (currently screaming in the middle of the night still).

When I think of my ideal closet space, I envision it being comfortable, chic, and spacious. I recently came across this company called Arhaus and was inspired to create my dream closet space. Arhaus is an amazing shop that offers unique, high quality, and well-designed home furnishings.

I love gold anything and the idea of a huge chandelier as the focal point is my dream. This chandelier caught my eye because I had never seen anything like it. I would want there to be wallpaper with mirrors and the prettiest wall decor. Lighting is essential to creating the vibe of the room for me. I need there to be substantial natural lighting, but also focal point lighting to help me see what works best. I would love to always have my clothes, shoes, and handbags exposed so I know exactly what I have.

I have dreamed of having a pink sofa for what feels like forever now. I desperately want one, but the living room seems a little cheesy to have it in and a sofa in my closet so friends can hang with me while I try on clothes would be ideal. I love stools as well because they are multi-functional for myself or guests. Check out other sofa options here.

The idea of an oversized dresser is also a key element for me to keep everything that cant hang or last seasons items. I love rotating out my clothes every season. It actually forces me to try things on and get rid of pieces I no longer love or fit well. A tray to sit on top to keep all of my perfume and jewelry is also a must have.

A rug is key to making the room feel incredibly homey and inviting. I love a shag rug in any room. It is so cozy and always a favorite of mine. A faux fig tree would really add that finishing touch to incorporate color and “life” to the room. I do love adding fresh flowers to almost every room in my home. Flowers make me oh so happy and are a total mood booster.
